Read about the Federal Timber Program Awards $2.4M to Wisconsin Companies...
Two Wisconsin businesses have been successful in being awarded timber production loans from a U.S. Department of Agriculture $115 million program. The loans were awarded in late March, and recipients included seven other states.
The two Lake States loans were an $800,000 loan to the Timber Professional Cooperative to assist in reopening a sawmill in Shawano County. The loan will be used to purchase almost 50 acres of real estate and equipment. The cooperative plans to expand to manufacturing new, higher-value products.
The second award to a Wisconsin company was to Delaney's Trees and Tires of Warrens, Wisconsin, for $1,660,000 to expand their current timber processing operations through the Timber Production Expansion Program (TPEP).
