BluSky Carbon Launches Biochar Production in Arkansas
Discover how a new $8.3 million facility could shape carbon removal efforts
The fledgling biochar industry in North America received a boost with the December announcement by BluSky Carbon of production of biochar at a facility in Warren, Arkansas.
Will Hessert, BluSky Carbon’s CEO, said that carbon removal cannot happen without “industrial-scale carbon removal projects,” and BluSky’s Arkansas development, which will produce 40,000 tons of biochar annually, shows a potential path for other projects.
BluSky Carbon is partnering with Associated Energy Developers (AED) on a new model for project design and finance. The development will cost $8.3 million and is expected to be fully operational at the end of January.
BluSky Carbon is publicly listed in Canada on the CSE and in Frankfurt, Germany.
