Expansion create 100 new jobs

A groundbreaking ceremony on July 20, 2022, for Georgia-Pacific's Broadway mill expansion in Green Bay.

MADISON, Wis. – Georgia Pacific Corporation broke ground on July 21 on a $500 million expansion of its main Green Bay mill operation, expanding its capacity in the consumer tissue and towel paper business. The expansion will be completed in 2024 and will add 100 employees to the mill’s current employment base of 850.

The Broadway mill has seven paper mills and seven converting operations. It will allow expansion of customers’ and Georgia Pacific’s own premium brand.

“We appreciate the local community, Brown County, state officials, and all of our employees’ hard work and effort to continue making our Green Bay Broadway mill competitive for the long term,” said Christian Fischer, the company’s President and CEO.

Georgia Pacific, which is owned by Koch Corporation, has invested more than $700 million in its Green Bay operations since 2006, according to the company’s announcement. It employs 2,100 people throughout Wisconsin.
